PLF Reviews explains “Fórmula de Lançamento,” the Portuguese name for Jeff Walker’s Product Launch Formula, and how the method’s prelaunch content (PLC) became the “CPL1, CPL2, CPL3” vocabulary of Brazil’s digital-product launch market.
A Brazilian true story first: Silvio Santos

At 14, Senor Abravanel was selling plastic cases for voter cards on the streets of Rio de Janeiro. He quit a radio job after a month because street sales paid more. He later took over a failing installment business, the Baú da Felicidade, turned it around, started his own TV show in 1963 and, in 1981, built the SBT network. Brazil knew him as Silvio Santos.
Brazil has always loved a great salesman with a great show. Maybe that’s one reason the ideas of the Product Launch Formula — anticipation, events, storytelling — took off there as “Fórmula de Lançamento.” Read the full story: Silvio Santos: street vendor to TV owner.
What Does “Fórmula de Lançamento” Mean?
“Fórmula de Lançamento” is Portuguese for “launch formula.” It’s the name used in Brazil and Portugal for Product Launch Formula (PLF), the program Jeff Walker created in 2005. Common searches include “a fórmula de lançamento Jeff Walker,” “Jeff Walker fórmula de lançamento” and “A Fórmula do Lançamento” (the way many readers refer to the book Launch).
The core idea is the same in every language: don’t just put a product on sale and hope — launch it. Build anticipation with free, valuable content over several days, then open a short sales window with a real deadline.
Why the Launch Formula Became So Big in Brazil
Brazil adopted Jeff Walker’s method so enthusiastically that “lançamentos” (launches) became a whole industry in the country’s digital-product market. Course creators, coaches and experts across Brazil use the PLF structure — free prelaunch content, a short open cart and a real deadline — to sell online courses and programs. Many Brazilian marketers learned the method directly from Jeff’s book and training, and the vocabulary of launches spread through the entire market.
Erico Rocha and the licensed Portuguese version of PLF
On June 6, 2013, Jeff Walker wrote on his blog that his Brazilian student Erico Rocha — a member of his Platinum mastermind for three years — had already done 77 launches in Brazil and was about a week away from releasing a licensed Portuguese-language version of PLF, code-named “PLF-BR” and officially titled Fórmula de Lançamento. Jeff also noted that over 40% of attendees at his previous live event came from outside the U.S.
The PLF Sequence (and the Brazilian “CPL” Terms)
1. Pre-prelaunch
Ask your audience about their biggest struggles, create curiosity and uncover objections before building anything.
2. Prelaunch — the three “CPLs”
Jeff Walker calls the prelaunch content PLC (Prelaunch Content). In Brazil, the same pieces are usually called CPL1, CPL2 and CPL3 (from the Portuguese “Conteúdo de Pré-Lançamento”):
- CPL1 / PLC1 — The opportunity: why this matters and what’s possible.
- CPL2 / PLC2 — The transformation: teach something real and deliver a quick win.
- CPL3 / PLC3 — The ownership experience: show life after the transformation and preview the offer.
3. Launch (open cart)
Present the offer with the price, bonuses, guarantee and a real deadline. Answer objections and remind people as the close approaches — many sales happen in the final hours.
4. Post-launch
Deliver a great experience to buyers, keep giving value to non-buyers and plan your next launch.
Behind it are the mental triggers (“gatilhos mentais” in Portuguese): authority, reciprocity, trust, anticipation, likability, events and rituals, community, social proof and scarcity. The sequence itself is Jeff’s Sideways Sales Letter.
“Lançamento Semente”: The Seed Launch
The Seed Launch is known in Portuguese as “lançamento semente.” You make a simple offer to a small audience before creating the product, take payment from the people who want it, and build the content as you deliver it, usually live.
It’s the ideal first launch: you validate the idea, get paid to create, shape the product around real customers and collect testimonials. Full guide: Jeff Walker Seed Launch.
Launch Types
| Launch type | Portuguese term | Best for | Goal |

The Launch Book in Portuguese
Jeff Walker’s #1 New York Times bestseller Launch has a Portuguese-language edition, and many readers search for it as “A Fórmula do Lançamento.” If you’re looking for “Fórmula de Lançamento Jeff Walker PDF grátis” or “A Fórmula do Lançamento PDF,” be careful: free PDFs found online are generally unauthorized copies and can contain malware. The legal options are to buy the book (print, ebook or audiobook) or borrow it from a library. More in our guide to Launch PDF and audiobook options.
Learning the launch formula from the source
Because the launch market in Brazil is so large, many people learn “the formula” second-hand, through local courses and interpretations. Going back to the original — Jeff Walker’s own training — has real advantages: you learn the reasoning behind each step, see current examples, and get the latest version of the method, including AI tools like Launchy. The official Product Launch Formula program and the Launch Masterclass are delivered in English.
Product Launch Formula Price
Jeff Walker doesn’t publish a permanent price; the price, payment options and bonuses are presented at the end of the free Masterclass. Independent reviews have historically reported around US$1,997, with payment plans. Always check the official page. Details: Product Launch Formula price.
