PLF Reviews explains the Launch Conga Line, Jeff Walker’s idea that a business is not one launch but a series of launches, each one building the list, proof and partners for the next. It’s one of the central ideas in his book Launch.
A true story about the long game: Wilma Rudolph

Wilma Rudolph contracted polio at about five and wore a leg brace until about 12. At her first Olympics, Melbourne 1956, aged 16, she won a bronze medal in the relay. She trained for four more years. In Rome, in 1960, she won three gold medals and was called the fastest woman in the world.
Bronze first, then gold. The Launch Conga Line in the Product Launch Formula is the same long game: one launch after another, each building on the last. Read the full story: Wilma Rudolph: brace to gold.
Launch, learn, launch again: each launch creates the assets the next one needs.
A Seed Launch gives you a product and testimonials, an internal launch gives you a proven offer, a JV launch gives you reach, and an evergreen launch gives you predictability.
The Launch Conga Line in practice
| Step | Launch type | What it creates for the next launch |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Seed Launch | A first product, first buyers, first testimonials |
| 2 | Internal Launch | A bigger list, conversion data, case studies |
| 3 | Internal Launch, again | A refined offer and a stronger launch |
| 4 | JV Launch | New audiences, partners, credibility |
| 5 | Evergreen Launch | Predictable sales between big launches |
| 6 | New Seed Launch | The next product, starting the line again |
Real Launch Conga Lines
- Will Hamilton (FuzzyYellowBalls.com). In Jeff Walker’s September 2011 case study, Will’s launches went from $35,000 (July) to $65,000 (September relaunch) to $105,000 (December, new product) to $170,000 (March) — four launches in a row, each larger than the last, followed by a partnership launch with tennis’s Bryan Brothers.
- Erico Rocha (Brazil). By June 2013, Jeff wrote that Erico had done 77 launches in multiple markets in Brazil and was preparing the licensed Portuguese version of PLF, Fórmula de Lançamento.
- Matthew Woodward. A $134,171 six-day internal launch, followed by a JV launch that added $128,894.
Why the Conga Line beats one big launch
- Risk is spread out. A small first launch is cheap to get wrong.
- Every launch is research. Survey answers, objections and conversion rates improve the next offer.
- Proof compounds. Each group of buyers produces testimonials and case studies.
- Partners join later. JV partners want a track record you only get by launching.
How to plan your next 12 months as a Launch Conga Line
- Month 1–2: Seed Launch of a small offer.
- Month 3–4: Build the full product with buyer feedback.
- Month 5: Internal launch of the full product.
- Month 7–8: Second internal launch with improved PLC and testimonials.
- Month 9–10: First JV launch with a few trusted partners.
- Month 11–12: Automate the best launch as an evergreen launch; seed the next product.
This is an illustrative plan, not a guarantee. The pace depends on your market, offer and time.
